Single Room Heat Recovery Ventilation

If you have just one or two rooms that are poorly ventilated and maybe suffering from condensation and mould problems then an alternate flow supply and extract fan with heat retention is a very good solution. The fan is continuously running, low energy, ultra-quiet, alternate flow supply and extract fan with heat retention for use in habitable areas such as living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, basements and hallways. The unit helps a room “breathe” and reduces indoor air pollutants and humidity levels.

The units cost around €2 per year to run and have a heat exchanger with over 80% efficiency. There are a number of different models available depending on the room size and a range of speed settings. There is also the option of a remote control for complete control of the unit.

These alternate flow fans can be used in conjunction with other ventilation systems for rooms that are remote from the main body of the house. Paragraph

Alternatively, we have anti draft vents such as the Fresh 90 which works very well when used in conjunction with MEV or dMEV fans. These vents are sized to allow enough replacement fresh air come into a room without over ventilating the room or causing a draft in windy conditions.

A step up from that is the Anjos humidity wall vent which is lined with acoustic foam to block out external noises. The vent has a self-regulating air inlet which opens and closes with the amount of humidity in the room. The vent operates very efficiently by allowing enough fresh air into a room when used in conjunction with a mechanical ventilation system.
